NORTH BASIN
The north of France is the region that has the most navigable waterways. At the heart of the European rivers region, its waterways have a declared commercial purpose. When the "Seine-North" canal is cut this should, by 2028, strengthen the existing links with the Seine Basin and allow convoys of up to 5000 tonnes to transit in the direction of Paris and Le Havre. However, the region also has numerous rivers that are easily navigable and suitable for pleasure boating, such as the Lys, the Escaut and the Somme.
